IHK committee in Kulmbach has a new chairperson

The Kulmbach Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) committee has a new chair: Michael Otte, managing director of our company, was unanimously elected as chair of the committee. He succeeds Harry Weiß, who is retiring from active professional life at the turn of the year and has stepped down from his honorary positions within the IHK.

Michael Otte is CEO of INUWAT AG and managing director of W.E.T. Wasser.Energie.Technologie GmbH and our sister company Richter Steuerungstechnik GmbH. As an experienced entrepreneur with in-depth knowledge of medium-sized structures and close ties to the region, he is ideally suited for the new role. At the official handover ceremony, he emphasised: ‘I consider it a great honour to be allowed to take over the chairmanship of the committee. Many companies are currently facing major challenges – including ours. This makes it particularly important to gather the voices from the business world and confront politicians with them. One thing is clear: something has to change. The economy needs a boost!’

The Kulmbach Chamber of Industry and Commerce committee acts as an important interface between business, politics, administration and the public. Against the backdrop of current economic challenges in particular, Michael Otte attaches great importance to dialogue between companies and decision-makers. His goal is to take up the concerns of the regional economy, bundle them and actively incorporate them into economic policy processes.

The election took place at the committee's last meeting in 2025. The chairmanship is initially for a term of one year, as the regular re-election of the IHK committee will take place in January 2027.

We are delighted with this election and congratulate Michael Otte warmly. We wish him every success in his new role, foresight and a successful representation of the interests of the Kulmbach economy.
